Los Angeles, Calif. - After beginning the 2005 campaign with the strongest opening weekend performance in school history last weekend at the Fullerton Invitational, the cross country squads return to action this Saturday at the University of San Diego Invitational.

The men will begin the 8000m at 7:30 a.m., while the women start their 6000m at 8:15 a.m. Both squads will race at Morley Field at Balboa Park in San Diego.

The USD Invitational will give the younger Lions an opportunity to race and gain important experience. LMU will rest some of its varsity runners this weekend, after entering full squads at last weekend's Fullerton Invitational.

The Lions will run against West Coast Conference opponents Pepperdine and host San Diego, among other participants. The women's side includes 2004 NCAA Runner-up Duke.

The hilly course will have the women running the 2000m loop three times and the men four.
