LMU Cross Country Runs at UC Riverside

Riverside, Calif. - The men's and women's cross country teams struggled during the UC Riverside Cross Country Invitational, Saturday morning. The men's team placed 24th out of 26 teams, while the women placed 13th out of 14 teams. The women totaled 338 points, while the men amassed 599.

Lara Del Rio was the Lions' top runner placing 47th, running a 19:39.5, while Melissa Correa of Track West won the women's race in 18:10.9. It was the fourth straight race that Del Rio was LMU's top runner.

On the men's side, Bernie Ochoa paced the Lions placing 124th out of 281 runners, clocking a 27:34.3. Julius Gidabuday of Runners High won the race in 24:31.8.

The Lions will be back in action when they travel to the Stanford Invitational next Saturday.
