LMU To Run with Alums on Saturday
Past and present Lions will run in Saturday's Manhattan Beach 10k.

Los Angeles, Calif. - While Loyola Marymount cross country will take this weekend off from collegiate racing, the Lions will find competition from another source: their own alumni. Alumni of the LMU cross country program will join the current squad in running the annual Manhattan Beach 10k this Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
Head Coach Scott Guerrero, who sits on the organizing committee for the local run, has made the community event an annual alumni reunion, and this year will be no different. Past and present Lions will take to the streets of Manhattan Beach this Saturday for the road race.
"In 2002, we had enough local alumni (mostly recent grads) to get everyone together on what is technically a bye week for the team," Guerrero explained. "We put together an alumni team to run the 10K, printed up some jerseys, and billed it as the `1st Annual Alumni Run.' A tradition was born."
Coach Guerrero and the Lions keep in touch with program alumni and fans throughout the season through their online group. Guerrero welcomes new additions to the group, which you can check out by clicking here.
