Cross Country off to NCAA Pre-Nationals
The LMU Cross Country team travels to Indiana this weekend for the NCAA Pre-Nationals race

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
This weekend the LMU Cross Country team is off to Terre Haute, Indiana for the NCAA Pre-Nationals Race. Not only is this weekend a chance for national exposure and competition, but the Lions are also looking to put the LMU distance program on the map in a national caliber race. The women will race a 6k at 11:00 am while the men will race an 8k 12:30 pm.
With a significant number of schools entered, the schools entered have been broken up into two flights, the blue race and the white race. Every top program and those who are looking to make it to the top in their regional and even the national rankings will be in attendance this weekend. For the women they will see West Coast Conference opponents Portland as well as San Francisco in the White heat at 11:35am. Additionally the lady lions will race against UCLA and Cal from the west region. The men will also face up against WCC opponent Portland Pilots as well as Cal Poly, BYU and Southern Utah from the west. Much like the Stanford Invite, this meet draws all the top competition from the west region, however in addition the Lions will have exposure to all the top programs from across the country.
Head Coach Scott Guerrero said, "This is a really good opportunity for us race across time zones which is always an adjustment when racing. Also it is really a chance for us to get out there against some really tough national level competition and see what we've got."
