Bronco Invitational On Tap
LMU's cross country teams will compete at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday in Sunnyvale.
LOS ANGELES - The LMU men's and women's cross country teams hit the race course at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, Calif., Saturday, competing in the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara.
The morning begins at 9 a.m. with the men's invitational 8K, followed by the women's invitational 6K at 9:45 a.m.
Fifteen total Division I men's teams will be in attendance, including LMU's West Coast Conference rivals Saint Mary's, San Diego and the host Broncos. The field also includes some of the West Region's top ranked programs including No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 Cal, No. 13 UC Santa Barbara and the Gaels who come in at No. 15.
On the women's side, 20 total Division I teams will be in attendance, including WCC members Pacific, San Diego, Saint Mary's, the host Broncos and LMU. Ranked in the West for the women are No. 5 Cal and No. 13 UC Davis.
LMU will send 10 women (Chloe Curtis, Kayla de Bondt, Elena Garcia, Lorena Garcia, Samantha Garcia, Emily Hubert, Ann Kelly, Danielle Shanahan, Kelli Capel and Maddi Vorgitch) and 15 men (Lance Capel, Ben Davis, Michael Duncan, Branden Estrada, Christopher Fredlund, Mat Holton, Brian Joerger, Grant Lapovich, Harry Loasby, Mat McLennan, Koby Pederson, Jack Polerecky, Joey Rodgers, Alex Sasser and Brandon Vientos) to the meet, which marks the final competition for the Lions' top runners prior to the 2015 WCC Championships being held in Spokane, Wash., on November 1.
