LOS ANGELES - With only a little more than one week until the Lions' centennial meet at the WCC Championships, LMU heads out to Cal State Fullerton for a second time this season for the Titan Invitational.

Location: Fullerton, CA

Date: Friday, Oct. 21

Times: 5:00 p.m. - Women's 5k Race, 5:30 p.m. - Men's 8k Race

Last Year's Result: Women - 2nd, Men - 4th

LAST YEAR AT THE TITAN INVITATIONAL

The Lions' women placed 2nd as a team, while the men in came 4th.  The women were led by juniors Jessica Mumaugh and Caroline Draper.  Mumaugh ran an 18:06 in the 5k to place 11th overall.  Draper had a season-best 18:14 to place 14th.  The men were led by junior Greg Innes who ran 25:43 on the 8k course and placed 32nd overall.

FRIDAY'S COURSE

The Titan Invitational will be held on Cal State Fullerton's campus.  The course starts and finishes on Fullerton track.  It loops around the campus' grass recreations fields and the concrete and asphalt pathways around the CSU Fullerton Sports Complex.

THE COMPETITION

Competition for the Lions will be fierce and includes WCC rivals Pepperdine, in addition to UCLA men's team (ranked 20th in the nation, 4th in the West), Long Beach State's men (ranked 9th in the West) and women (ranked 9th in the West), and UC Santa Barbara's men (ranked 11th in the West), and women (ranked 15th in the West).

THE LIONS ARE ROARING

The Lions have had an impressive season.  LMU Cross Country posted wins at the Asics Season Opener in Brea, Calif. the UC Riverside Invitational, and strong 5th place finishes at the Stanford Invitational.  Last week, the Lions ran at the prestigious NCAA Pre-National Invitational where red-shirt senior Tara Erdmann finished 3rd overall while the teams competed well against strong competition from across the country.
