LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU Cross Country team is gearing up for Cal State Fullerton Titan Cross Country Invitational this Friday. With the WCC Conference Championships just a week away, the Lions will race a "B" squad in their final competition for the season. The Women's 5k race will go off at 5:00pm and the men's 8k will go off at 5:30 pm at the Cal State Fullerton campus.

The women already have a deep squad, who have proved to be competitive at all the invitationals they have competed in; at the Vanguard Invitational the women took fourth only behind some of the top NAIA schools. Jessica Mumaugh, who led the Lions at Vanguard is looking to have another strong race with freshmen Kelly Shogren and Laura Delgado in tow. Junior Megan Fairley and Sophomore Caroline Draper have had strong seasons and will be looking to set personal bests for their seasons for the 5k distance. Sophomore Jillian Jaccard and senior Shea Franklin will round out the squad for the Lions and also looking to have their last race this season be their best.

For the men, freshman Mike Evans who led the Lions at the Vanguard Invitational will be looking for a repeat performance. Michael Herrera and Greg Innes both had strong races at Vanguard placing high in the overall places for the Lions and should be competitive in this field. Oran Arms who improved by over a minute on his 8k time earlier this season from the 2009 season is also looking to have a strong race. Michael Carlone, Henry Jordan, RJ Larrieu and Matt Duncan will also be competing for the Lions in their last competitive race for the 2010 season.
