Cross Country Travels To WCC Championships

The LMU men's and women's cross country teams begin postseason racing as they compete at the WCC Championships at the Metropolitan Golf Links in Oakland, Calif., this Friday, Oct. 27. The women's 6K will start off the day at 10 a.m. followed by the men's 8K at 11 a.m. The awards ceremony will be held at 12 p.m.

Both the Lion men's and women's teams highest finish at the Conference Championship has been second which last occurred in 2009. Most recently, the men were third in 2013 while the women were third as well in 2014.

"The Conference has become increasingly more and more competitive over the years which is a testament to the WCC being one of the top cross country Conferences in the nation," Lions head coach Scott Guerrero said. "Of the 31 teams for the men and women, there have been two teams on the men's side and three for the women that have made to Nationals each of the last three years."

Women's 6K: 10 a.m.
Men's 8K: 11 a.m.
Awards Ceremony: 12 p.m.
