WCC Championships Set For Saturday in Malibu
West Coast Conference men's and women's cross country teams will converge on Pepperdine University in Malibu on Saturday. Nov. 2 for the 2013 WCC Championships. The men's 8k race begins at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6k at 10 a.m.

LOS ANGELES - West Coast Conference men's and women's cross country teams will converge on Pepperdine University in Malibu on Saturday. Nov. 2 for the 2013 WCC Championships. The men's 8k race begins at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6k at 10 a.m.
This marks the first Southern California WCC Championship since 1980, and it is the first time the women have ever raced for a conference title in Southern California. Both races will be streamed live on theW.tv

Nine teams will compete on the men's side including No. 5 nationally ranked BYU and No. 6 Portland. The Lions are ranked No. 11 in the West Region while Gonzaga comes in at No. 15 in the latest poll. Rounding out the field are San Francisco, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, San Diego and Pepperdine.
The women's field features 10 team for the first time ever, including No. 17 nationally ranked San Francisco, who has also won the last four WCC team titles. LMU enters the championship ranked No. 12 in the West Region while Portland comes in at No. 13. BYU is ranked No. 3 in the Mountain Region. Rounding out the women's field are Gonzaga, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, San Diego, Pepperdine and Pacific.

This week also include men's water polo taking on WWPA foe UC Davis on Friday, Nov. 1 at 3 pm. Following the WCC Cross Country Championships on Saturday will be the women's volleyball taking on ranked San Diego in a key WCC match on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 12 noon. That night, the LMU men's basketball team will give fans their first look to the 2013-14 squad as they play their lone exhibition game, taking on Cal Lutheran at 7:30 p.m.
On Sunday, Nov. 3 men's water polo is back in action when they host school rival Santa Clara at the Burns Aquatics Center at 11 a.m. The First Look Week will end on Monday, Nov. 4 when the women's basketball team gives their first look to fans when they face Cal State San Bernardino in their lone exhibition at 7 p.m.
