Los Angeles, Calif -
After being five points away from capturing their first every WCC Cross Country Championship, LMU women's Cross-Country was awarded with their highest ranking ever in the West Region.
The Lions were ranked 11th in the region, three spots behind WCC champions, #8 Portland. After finishing in the top 15 at last year's regional meet, LMU women's cross country has not been ranked in the top 15 all season long until this week .
Despite breaking the record for the closest second place finish in WCC history, LMU men's cross- country was not ranked in the top fifteen. Their last ranking came earlier in the season when they were ranked #15 in week one. That was the first time the men have ever been ranked in the top fifteen.
The Lions will continue to prove their critics at the NCAA West Region Championship on Nov. 15. Race begins at 11:00 a.m. in Palo Alto, CA.
