Erdmann Qualifies for NCAA Championships.

Los Angeles, Calif - In only her second season at LMU, Tara Erdmann has qualified for the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana. Erdmann is the third LMU runner in as many years to qualify for the honor.

The sophomore from Tucson, Arizona has been a consistent performer since reaching campus. In her freshman season Tara dominated the competition right away earning all-WCC honors as well as WCC Freshman of the Year in 2007.

This season, Erdmann has already emerged as a leader for the Lions. She has lead the pack on the woman's side all season finishing in the top ten for all but three meets while capturing the individual championship at the WCC Championships on Nov. 1 in Belmont, Calif.

Thirty-one teams qualified to participated in the big race, including WCC champion Portland. Eighteen of the teams finished in the top 2 in their respective region. Thirty-eight individuals were selected to participate in Terre Haute. In order to qualify for the championships, individual performers must have finished in the top 25 in their respective region. Erdmann crossed the finish line in 14th place overall at last weekend's NCAA West Region qualifier at Stanford.

The NCAA Cross Country Championships will be broadcast live on CBS College Sports Network on Monday, November 24 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. It will also be streamed live at NCAA.com with the women's race approximately beginning at 12:08 p.m. E.T. with the men races right after at 12:48 p.m.
