Quartet Named to WCC All-Academic Teams
Grace Graham-Zaumdio headlines four Lions earning WCC academic honors.
LOS ANGELES - Grace Graham-Zamudio was named to the 2014 West Coast Conference Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, highlighting a quartet of Lions earning academic honors.
This marks the first WCC All-Academic honor for Graham-Zamudio, who carries a 3.38 cumulative GPA while concluding her degree in Sociology. The senior took fifth at her final WCC Cross Country Championships, followed by a 17th-place finish at the NCAA West Regional.
Burke is a sophomore marketing major with a 3.57 GPA while Sugimoto, a junior English major with a 3.66 GPA, earns her second career honorable mention team honor. Gibson, a senior computer science major with a 3.27 GPA, garnered his second consecutive honorable mention team selection.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport.To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
