SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Tara Erdmann has been named West Coast Conference Runner of the Month for the month of November. The red-shirt senior finished third at the NCAA West Regional and 10th overall at the NCAA National Championships during the month of November. Erdmann was named WCC Runner of the Month for the third consecutive month after receiving the honor in the months of September and October.
Erdmann concluded the month of November by running a personal-best time of 19:51.3 at the NCAA Women's Cross Country National Championship to earn her sixth All-American honor. She finished 10th overall in a field of 254 of the nation's best runners, only 10 seconds behind the overall winner. Earlier in the month, Tara finished third at the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 19:53, trailing the lead by only 9 seconds. It was Erdmann's first sub-20 finish in a 6k race.
Tara concluded the month of October by becoming the first person in WCC history to win three individual conference titles. She ran a course-record setting time of 20:01 at the conference championship course in Belmont, Calif. Erdmann also finished third overall at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. earlier in the month.
In September, Erdmann won the WCC Runner of the Month award after a course-record setting win at the UC Riverside Invitational and 3rd place finish at the Stanford Invitational. The Tucson, Ariz. native had an incredible year.
Erdmann ended her collegiate cross-country career with two cross-country All-American honors (in addition to her four track All-American honors), three WCC championships, the WCC championship course record, All-WCC Academic honors, and multiple LMU and course record times. In impressive fashion, Erdmann improved her personal-best time in each of her final three races, running her fastest in her final race.
