Ochoa Named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team
Sophomore earns a 3.69 in physics and chemistry, while also placing 18th at conference championships.

SAN BRUNO, CALIF., -- Loyola Marymount sophomore Bernie Ochoa has been named to the West Coast Conference Fall All-Academic Team for men's cross country. Ochoa was LMU's top runner in five of the six races he competed, including an 18th-place showing at the WCC Championships. The La Puente, Calif., native sports a 3.69 grade point average in physics and chemistry.
Ochoa also garnered sixth-place this season at the USD Invitational and 10th-place at the Aztec Invitational. He was the only Lion on the men's side to earn a top-ten effort.
At the completion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each of the participating sponsored sports. To be considered, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his or her team.
