Bob (Whitey) Kerslake
Played for the Lions before there was a formal league and managed to still get recognized in the region as one of the better infielders. Hit over .400 in each of his three seasons, finishing the 1956 season hitting over .500 for the Lions. Played Short Stop and served as team captain as a Juniorand Senior. Offered contract and signing bonus to play for Chicago White Sox organization after Junior Year. Decided to play for the Chicago White Sox Junior team and continue his education by returning to Loyola for his Senior year. Helped Loyola High to CIF title in Baseball and Basketball.
