DoubleTree Classic Tournament Central LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU men's basketball team will roll into their 2011 Centennial Game on a three-game winning streaked, highlighted by their second straight win over a ranked opponent on Tuesday. The Lions will be at the epicenter of a weekend full of activities celebrating Loyola Marymount's Centennial. The Lions will host the DoubleTree Los Angeles Westside Centennial Classic this weekend and with it the 2011 Centennial Game for men's basketball. The Lions will host the Columbia Lions on Friday, Dec. 2 to close the first day of the DoubleTree Classic. The game is the Centennial Celebration for the 2011 season for the Lions and it starts at 7 p.m. While tip-off isn't until just after seven, the day is filled with celebrations. The day begins with game one of the DoubleTree Classic between North Texas and La Sierra at 2 p.m. Then at five will be the Centennial Pregame Celebration Event in the Burns Parking Lot. Open to all, many groups will host gatherings, including the Varsity L Event, welcoming all former student-athletes back to campus. In addition, all LMU Athletics' Hall of Fame members have been invited back for the game and they will be the guest of honor for the game. They will be recognized during a half time ceremony. During the Pregame Celebration, ASLMU has arranged for the Kogi Truck to be on hand to serve tacos to the first 200 students with their one card and AMP Radio 97.1 will be on hand, broadcasting from the event.
Fans coming to the game will want to get their a tad early as the special giveaway to the first 2,500 is the special edition Centennial Uniform the team will wear during the game. The uniform is in gold and trimmed in crimson in honor of the University's first 100 years. And that is just the beginning.
