2013... honorable mention All-WCC selection... started 46 games as a sophomore... batted .256 with 23 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples, a homer and 26 RBI on the year... 23 runs scored were fourth-highest on the team... swiped 16 bases in 21 attempts... hit .284 with six extra base hits, 14 RBI, 12 runs scored and a .383 on base percentage in WCC play... matched an LMU program record with four walks against UC Riverside on 4/9... went 2-for-2 and reached in all six plate appearances against the Highlanders... blasted first career home run against BYU on 5/4... scored three times and stole a career-best two bases vs. Bradley (3/3)... 2-for-3 with two RBI at #26 Oklahoma State (3/10)... also notched two RBI with a triple against the Cowboys on 3/10... two runs scored and two stolen bases at Pepperdine on 3/15... swiped a pair of bases against #23 San Diego on 4/7... 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk against Santa Clara on 5/19... hit .283 when leading off an inning...

A 2011 graduate of Foothill High School in Santa Ana, Calif... two-year varsity letterwinner for Head Coach Gary Fishel... garnered All-League as a senior... batted .408 with 35 runs scored, 13 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 29 RBI as a senior... stole 13 bases in his final campaign... named Team MVP and awarded Coaches Award as a senior... also played football in high school...

David Wayne Edwards was born January 22, 1993 in Orange, Calif... son of Kristi and Dave Edwards... father played baseball at Oregon State University... has one sister, Jaquilyn, and one brother, Jay... chose LMU because of the outstanding academics offered and to be a part of the collegiate baseball team... chose LMU over Chapman, Stanford, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Washington, and USF... a business major.
