AT LMU
2011... garnered honorable mention All-WCC honors... made 19 appearances and nine starts... posted a 7-3 record and a 2.99 ERA with two complete games, one shutout and a save... tossed 72.1 innings and struck out 47 batters... held opponents to a .264 batting average against... posted a 3-2 record and a 3.51 ERA during conference play... tossed a pair of complete games, including a complete-game shutout, in WCC games... named WCC Pitcher of the Week and a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate baseball on May 16... did not allow an earned run in 15.1 innings that week, as he struck out 14 batters over his two starts... began the week by tossing six and a third innings and leaving with a 2-1 lead on May 9 versus Cal State Bakersfield en route to a no decision... allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out a career-high eight batters in that game... tossed his second career complete game, and his first career complete-game shutout, on May 14 to finish the week... threw 116 pitches, allowing six hits and one walk while striking out six hitters in that start... recorded his second complete game in as many starts on May 22, tossing 10 innings en route to a 3-2 victory over Portland... struck out five hitters and needed just the 107 pitches to get through the 10 frames... earned the win against UC Riverside on February 18 after tossing an inning of scoreless relief with two strikeouts... also earned the victory in a start at Long Beach State on February 22, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing just one run while striking out six batters... earned the victory after tossing four and a third innings of relief and allowing just one unearned run at Cal Poly on March 13... earned the victory over UC Santa Barbara on March 30 after tossing two and a third innings of relief... earned a victory over Santa Clara on April 10 after tossing five and a third innings and allowing two runs (one earned) with two strikeouts... notched six strikeouts over six and a third innings at San Francisco on May 1... punched-out a career-best eight batters on May 9 versus Cal State Bakersfield...

2010... named WCC Co-Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 29... accumulated a 4-2 record and an 8.73 ERA over a team-high 20 appearances and six starts... tossed 54.2 innings and struck out 37 batters... pitched his first career complete game against Cal State Fullerton on March 23, his second career start... punched-out a season-best five in that game against the Titans... one complete game placed tied for ninth in the WCC... was 1-0 with a 10.93 ERA against conference foes... made six WCC appearances, all in relief... struck out 10 conference hitters in 14 innings of work... recorded victories over Fresno State, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and San Francisco...

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2009 graduate of Grossmont High School in El Cajon, Calif... earned three varsity letters for coaches Rob Phillips and Jim Early... served as team captain in his senior year... garnered All-City and All-Area honors after his junior and senior campaigns... named All-League and All-CIF in his final two years of play... was 10-1 with a 1.77 ERA in 79 innings pitched as a junior... punched-out 73 and walked 16 that season... 8-0 with a 2.36 ERA as a senior... tossed 65.1 innings with 75 strikeouts in his final season... batted .347 with five home runs as a senior at the plate... named Division II Pitcher of the Year and League Pitcher of the Year... recruited by San Diego State, San Diego, Pepperdine, UC Irvine and UC Riverside, but chose LMU because of the great academics and athletics... also competed in basketball and football in high school...

Aaron James Griffin was born June 17, 1991 in San Diego, Calif... son of Kathleen and Timothy Griffin... has one brother, AJ, who pitched at the University of San Diego before currently playing in the Oakland Athletics organization... an electrical engineering major.
