2016 LMU Baseball Season Preview

LMU will begin the 2016 season at #11 TCU on Friday night.

2017... did not appear in any games during his sophomore season due to off-season surgery... utilized a redshirt season...

2016... managed a .93 ERA over 12 relief appearances... logged 9.2 innings while striking out nine batters... limited opponents to a .176 average against... made five appearances in WCC play, tossing 4.1 scoreless frames while allowing just one hit and striking out five... WCC opponents hit just .071 against him... made collegiate debut vs. UC Irvine on 3/1... struck out two over one scoreless inning at #24 Long Beach State on 3/15... punched out a pair in a perfect ninth inning against Portland on 3/19... had just one game in which he allowed a run, surrendering a pair of runs (one earned) at CSU Bakersfield on 4/20...

A 2015 graduate of Westview High School in Portland, Ore... prepped under head coach Steve Antich... a two-year varsity letter winner, including serving as team captain in his final season... first team All-Metro League and honorable mention All-State as a senior... 2015 Oregon All-State Game MVP... went 6-1 with a .90 ERA as a senior... also competed in water polo in high school... standout pitcher on the club circuit, posting an ERA of 1.24 and tossing a pair of one-hitters...

Mark Elliott Finkelnburg was born February 20, 1997 in Portland, Ore... son of Debra and Karl Finkelnburg... father played football at Washington State... has three brothers, Mike, Steve and Erik, and two sisters, Allison and Dana... chose LMU because it is a school well-known for academics with a great baseball program... a business major.
