Sean Watkins is in his second season with LMU baseball... turned in the third-best ERA in LMU history (1.89) as a freshman in 2015... also had the second-lowest opponent batting average in program history during his first season (.201)... garnered Freshman All-American honors and an honorable mention All-WCC nod in 2015...

2015... Freshman All-American according to Baseball America, National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (Louisville Slugger), and Perfect Game as a two-way player... also garnered honorable mention All-WCC and a spot on the All-Freshman team... posted a team-best 1.89 ERA with a 4-1 record over 17 appearances and nine starts... ERA was third-best in LMU history, and the best since 1971... combined on a pair of shutouts... struck out 49 over 57 innings... allowed just a .201 batting average against, good for second all-time in LMU history amongst pitchers with 50+ innings... did not allow an earned run over his first 19 collegiate innings of work, and did not surrender more than two in any start... went 3-0 with 31 strikeouts and a 2.08 ERA over 43.1 innings in WCC play... batted .266 with 22 runs scored, 22 RBI, seven doubles, a triple and six homers to finish tied for the team lead in round-trippers... slugged .455 to finish third on the team in the category... batted .276 with nine RBI in WCC play... posted 10 two-out RBI... tossed 5.0 shutout innings in a start against Gonzaga to record the victory on 3/29... reached safely and batted .273 with seven runs scored, three doubles, a triple, two homers and nine RBI over his first nine games as a Lion... belted first career homer as part of a three-RBI night at San Diego State on 2/17... went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and two RBI at #20 Arkansas on 3/8... homered for the second consecutive game on 3/10 against #1 TCU... 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, a homer and a RBI on 5/22 against Pepperdine to help LMU reach the Championship Game at the WCC Tournament... got the start on the hill against Pepperdine in the WCC Championship Game on 5/23... amassed 12 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI contests... named 2015 LMU Male Freshman Athlete of the Year...

A 2014 graduate of Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif... two-year varsity letter winner under head coach Craig Gianinno... served as a team captain as a senior... honorable mention All-American according to Perfect Game as a senior... earned first team All-Daily News Prep selection in 2014... took home All-WCAL honors in each of his two varsity seasons... second team All-State Underclassmen according to Cal-Hi Sports... earned a spot on the Oakland A's Area Code squad... Sean Michael Watkins was born November 16, 1995 in San Mateo, Calif... son of Cheryl and Michael Watkins... has one brother, Mike, Jr., who played baseball at Canada College... chose LMU because it is a smaller school with small class sizes, and for the baseball coaches... a business management major.
