Stephen Kahn is in his third season with the Lions... named a preseason All-American by Baseball America... coming off a conference pitcher of the year season... coaches say he's even better now... has shown improvement in command and secondary pitches... should be one of the better pitchers on the LMU staff... Baseball America says he has the best draft potential and the best fastball in the WCC... also lists him as one of the nation's top-20 juniors...

Current 2005 season... named the WCC Pitcher of the Week after throwing a nine-inning one-hitter through nine innings against West Division-leader San Francisco... earned his eighth carrer save on February 23 against Chapman... went 6.2 innings and struck out seven against Utah on February 26... worked seven innings and allowed just two earned runs against San Diego on March 18... threw a complete game win against Saint Mary's on May 7... 2004... Named WCC Pitcher of the Year after leading LMU to the Coast Division title and the program's third WCC Championship Series appearance in six seasons ... was a USA Baseball National Team gold medalist... Completed season with a 5-4 record, with a team-high six saves in 25 appearances... struckout 55 in 47 IP... recorded a save in three straight appearances after his collegiate debut against Cal (2/8)... allowed one run on one hit to preserve 5-3 victory over Washington on Feb. 15... came back the next day to once again pitch ninth inning, striking out the final batter to record another save... pitched ninth inning against Cal Poly (2/21), walking two and striking out two, while giving up no runs on one hit in 5-4 victory... earned first collegiate victory in 8-7 win over San Jose State (3/2), pitching the ninth, striking out two and walking two ... moved record to 2-0, earning first collegiate start against CSUN (3/11), throwing two scoreless innings, striking out three, while allowing three hits... threw a perfect inning, retiring all three batters faced during a 15-5 win over Portland (3/15)... moved to 3-0 on the season throwing two relief innings, allowing two runs on four hits, during a 3-2 win over Cal State Fullerton (3/19)... earned his fourth save in a 7-5 victory over San Francisco on March 23, not allowing a hit, while issuing just a walk in three innings... was dominant against UCR (3/26), pitching three perfect innings, striking out six of the nine batters he faced in relief... earned fifth save of the season, throwing two hitless innings in a 4-1 win over Saint Mary's (4/4), while striking out five and walking two... picked up team-leading sixth save of the season, recording final two outs of the game ...
