Lions and Trojans Postponed Due to Fog

March 13, 2018

LMU and USC had a game called in the top of the fifth inning due to fog on Tuesday night from Page Stadium. The Trojans led 5-3 when the game was called, but because it did not go five innings to become official, the contest is essentially wiped out. The teams will make the game up in its entirety on April 18 at 6 p.m. at LMU.

The two teams endured a pair of delays, both coming in the top of the fifth. Twelve minutes after starting back up following the first delay, the umpires sent the teams back to the dugouts where they would not emerge for any more play.

Though the stats from Tuesday will not count, USC jumped out to an early lead with five runs in the top of the first. LMU responded nicely with two in the home half of the first, including one one an RBI-triple from Niko Decolati, before adding a third run in the third inning after taking advantage of a Trojan error.

LMU will open WCC play on Thursday, traveling to BYU to open a three-game series at 5 p.m. PT.
