LOS ANGELES, Calif. - As the 2013 season approaches, we here at LMULions.com would like to (re)introduce you to some of the baseball players who will be gracing Page Stadium's field this year. We have asked all the players a series of questions that range from why they chose LMU to what they would change their name to if they could. Today's question and answer session will feature freshman Mitch Russell.

LMULions.com: What did you do this summer?
Mitch Russell: Played baseball and took a family vacation before coming to LMU.

LMU: Why did you choose LMU/What do you like most about LMU?
MR: I chose LMU mainly because of the strong baseball program and academics.

LMU: Do you have a nickname? Explain the meaning behind it.
MR: I don't have a nickname.

LMU: What is your greatest highlight on the field?
MR: Closing the game to win the city championships against West Covina in seventh grade.

LMU: After LMU, what do you want to do?
MR: If baseball doesn't work out, then I would like to do something related to sports and business.

LMU: Do you have any superstitions?
MR: I always say a specific prayer in my head before I pitch.

LMU: Do you have any hidden talents?
MR: I can hold my breath really long under water.

LMU: What is your favorite baseball team?
MR: The Detroit Tigers.

LMU: What is your favorite movie?
MR: He Got Game.

LMU: What is your favorite book?
MR: Heart of a Champion.

LMU: What celebrity would play you in a movie about your life?
MR: Leonardo DiCaprio.

LMU: You are given $1,000,000 - what do you spend it on?
MR: I would invest half of it in stocks, and then get Lakers season floor-seat tickets, and a new car.

LMU: Are you a collector of anything?
MR: I am a collector of music.

LMU: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
MR: I would have the power to fly so I could go anywhere in the world whenever I want.

LMU: If I take a look inside your refrigerator what would I find?
MR: Whole Milk, Gatorade, water, and Gogurts.

LMU: What is your motto or advice you live by?
MR: Quitters never win and winners never quit.

LMU: Name at least one television show that you watch every week.
MR: Breaking Bad, East Bound & Down, Workaholics, and Intentional Talk.

LMU: What is your most prized possession?
MR: My family including our animals.

LMU: Any fears or phobias?
MR: Definitely sharks, snakes, and spiders.

LMU: Who is your biggest influence in life?
MR: My God-Brother.

LMU: Name one thing not many people know about you.
MR: I watch almost every TV show on television.

LMU: If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
MR: When the "Dream Team" won the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

LMU: Are you a morning or night person?
MR: I'm definitely a night person.

LMU: If you could be any animal, what would you be?
MR: Either a Lion or a Silverback Gorilla.

LMU: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
MR: St. Bath's, a French West Indy island in the Caribbean.

LMU: If you could change your name, what would it be?
MR: Ross or Brad.

LMU: If someone was to give you one gift, what would you want to receive?
MR: A megat-yacht.

LMU: What was your favorite childhood television program?
MR: Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century.
