LMU: Is 0-3 to start a season for the first time since beginning the 2010 season 0-6 ... has dropped three straight games for the first time since losing the last four to finish 2016 ... played for the WCC Championship three of the last four years (losses to Pepperdine in 2014 and 2015, loss to BYU in 2017) ... last earned an NCAA berth in 2000 ... is picked to finish fifth in the WCC Preseason Coaches’ Poll ... is also picked ffith according to D1Baseball.com ... is 6-4 on Opening Day under head coach Jason Gill (lost to #19 UCSB in 2017 & vs. Oregon this year).
LION TRACKS: LMU went 0-3 beginning the year at the 2018 Marucci Desert Classic hosted by UNLV over the weekend ... the Lions opened the year against Oregon, suffering a 6-1 setback before dropping a game to Indiana State, 8-2, on Saturday ... LMU scored five runs in the first inning on Sunday at host UNLV, but the Rebels eventually battled back to win, 11-10, in 10 innings following a bases-loaded balk committed by junior Codie Paiva ... LMU scored first in two of the three games (Oregon and UNLV) ... the Lions allowed a .315 average against while hitting just .231 offensively ... LMU’s starting pitchers lasted a combined 11.1 innings, surrendering 14 runs en route to being saddled with two losses and an ERA of 11.12.
BREAKOUT GAME?: LMU managed 12 total bases and 2 RBI over the first two games of the year combined, but exploded for 25 total bases and 9 RBI at UNLV on 2/18 ... the Lions posted 2 doubles, 2 triples and 2 homers in the game.

Page Stadium is also in its fifth year under the lights ... the 2018 LMU baseball schedule features 24 home games ... LMU went 17-10 last year at home after going 9-12 at home in 2016 ... the Lions, who have posted a 560-420-4 (.571) overall record in the park’s 35 seasons, have claimed six conference titles while calling Page Stadium home ... the first Page Stadium conference title came in 1986, when the Lions posted a 24-8 record at home ... the best record came in 1988, when LMU was 30-5 at home (.857) ...
