MILB.COM: Whitesell Leads Sens' 23-Hit Attack

April 14, 2007

The following excerpt ran on MILB.com Friday, April 13, 2007.

Josh Whitesell went 5-for-5 with five RBIs to fuel a 23-hit attack Friday night as the Harrisburg Senators rolled to a 16-3 victory over the Erie SeaWolves at Commerce Bank Park.

On the eve of his 25th birthday, Whitesell got the Senators (2-6) going with a two-run homer in the second inning. He delivered a two-run double in the third and added an RBI single in the fourth en route to a career high in hits.

It was the first five-hit game by a Senator since Ron Calloway on May 5, 2001.

The LMU product doubled twice and scored three times. He also had a pair of five-RBI games for Class A Advanced Potomac during the 2005 season.
