Senior Colton Plaia took home West Coast Conference Player of the Week accolades for this week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday. For Plaia, the selection is his second of his career after earning the honor on April 2 of last season.

Plaia hit .500 (8-for-16) with five runs scored, three doubles, two homers and four RBI over the course of four games last week. The native of Mission Viejo, Calif. drew three walks and stole one base while reaching at a .579 clip and slugging 1.062.

The catcher, who awaits the MLB Draft from June 6-8 of this year, hit safely in all four games last week, including going 4-for-5 day with two homers, three runs scored and four RBI on Friday vs. Santa Clara. The multi-homer game was the first of his career.

LMU, which took home four WCC weekly honors this season, finished the 2013 season with a 24-27 overall record and a 12-12 mark in the WCC. Plaia batted a team-best .311 with 24 runs scored, 16 doubles, three homers and 25 RBI.
