LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Loyola Marymount University Athletic Director Bill Husak announced today that Frank Cruz has been released from his position as head baseball coach.

Husak said a replacement for the head coaching position will be announced in the near future.

"I want to thank Frank Cruz for his years of dedicated service to LMU as a head coach," said Husak. "Frank can be proud of many of his team's accomplishments in the past 12 years, both on the field and in the classroom. However, I felt it was time for the baseball program to move in a new direction."

Cruz recently completed his 12th season as head coach, as the Lions finished 23-32 overall and 7-14 in the West Coast Conference. Cruz's career record was 329-356-3.
