This week's question and answer session will feature freshman George Haaland.
LMULions.com: What did you do this summer?
George Haaland: I played baseball for an American Legion team called the Sandlot and we won our state tournament and went to New Orleans for Regionals.
LMU: Why did you choose LMU/What do you like most about LMU?
GH: I chose LMU because of its outstanding academic reputation and because of our on the rise baseball team.
LMU: Do you have a nickname? Explain the meaning behind it.
GH: Jorge or georgey...I go by george, and some guys on my high school team called me those two.
LMU: What is your greatest highlight on the field?
GH: My greatest highlight was catching in the Oklahoma 5A State Championship game.
LMU: After LMU, what do you want to do?
GH: I'd like to become a successful business man if I'm unable to continue playing baseball.
LMU: Do you have any superstitions?
GH: I always have to wear matching Nike socks underneath my baseball socks on game days.
LMU: What is your favorite baseball team?
GH: The Minnesota Twins.
LMU: What is the early favorite for your walk-up song?
GH: I'd say Cut You Down by Johnny Cash or Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum.
LMU: What is your favorite movie?
GH: Favorite comedy is Caddyshack.
LMU: What is your favorite book?
GH: Harry Potter books.
LMU: What celebrity would play you in a movie about your life?
GH: Tom Hanks.
LMU: You are given $1,000,000 - what do you spend it on?
GH: A house either in the mountains or on a lake.
LMU: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
GH: Super speed.
LMU: If I take a look inside your refrigerator what would I find?
GH: Water bottles and Gatorade.
LMU: What is your motto or advice you live by?
GH: Be humble, be confident.
LMU: Name at least one television show that you watch every week.
GH: The Office.
LMU: What is your most prized possession?
GH: Probably my a2000.
LMU: Any fears or phobias?
GH: I hate spiders.
LMU: Who is your biggest influence in life?
GH: My mom, dad, and sister.
LMU: If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
GH: I would want to be at the Miracle on Ice.
LMU: Are you a morning or night person?
GH: Morning.
LMU: If you could be any animal, what would you be?
GH: A dog.
LMU: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
GH: Somewhere in the mountains or on a lake.

GH: Wally or Spencer.

GH: An F-150 King Ranch Edition truck.
