Sept. 11, 2012

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - As the 2013 season approaches, we here at LMULions.com would like to (re)introduce you to some of the baseball players who will be gracing Page Stadium's field this year. We have asked all the players a series of questions that range from why they chose LMU to what they would change their name to if they could. If you have any additional question that you'd like to see answered in the future, please feel free to email Tyler Geivett at tgeivett@lmu.edu.

This week's question and answer session will feature senior Aaron Griffin.

LMULions.com: What did you do this summer?
Aaron Griffin: Took the summer off from baseball. I spent my summer in Los Angeles taking summer school courses to lighten my load for my senior year.

LMU: Why did you choose LMU/What do you like most about LMU?
AG: I chose LMU for the great athletics and the exceptional engineering program. It was in Southern California, which was appealing to stay close to home, but was just far enough away.

LMU: Do you have a nickname? Explain the meaning behind it.
AG: Griff, my last name minus the final syllable.

LMU: What is your greatest highlight on the field?
AG: Nothing sticks out to me.

LMU: After LMU, what do you want to do?
AG: I plan to play professional ball for a few years and see where my baseball career is at that point. If forced to make an adult decision, I plan to hang up my spikes and return to school for my MBA and go to graduate school for electrical engineering.

LMU: What is your favorite baseball team?
AG: Oakland A's - most exciting team in baseball this year.

LMU: What is the early favorite for your walk-up song?
AG: I'll probably stick with Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine. LMU: What is your favorite movie?
AG: No movie separates itself, I enjoy all genres.

LMU: What celebrity would play you in a movie about your life?
AG: Ashton Kutcher.

LMU: You are given $1,000,000 - what do you spend it on?
AG: I would buy a house and a car, then invest the rest.

LMU: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
AG: I'd enjoy flying, Hank inspires me.

LMU: If I take a look inside your refrigerator what would I find?
AG: Lots of protein, vegetables, orange juice and water.

LMU: What is your motto or advice you live by?
AG: Everything happens for a reason.

LMU: Name at least one television show that you watch every week.
AG: How I Met Your Mother.

LMU: What is your most prized possession?
AG: Don't really have anything too special, I'm pretty easy going.

LMU: Who is your biggest influence in life?
AG: My family...my mom, dad and brother have all had huge impacts on me in different ways.

LMU: Name one thing not many people know about you.
AG: I have no secrets.

LMU: Do you have a celebrity look-alike?
AG: David Gallagher.

LMU: If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
AG: I'd want to go back and witness the Roman Empire.

LMU: Are you a morning or night person?
AG: Depends on the day. I love the mornings, but I have to get out of bed to enjoy them.

LMU: If you could be any animal, what would you be?
AG: Probably a dog.

LMU: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
AG: I want two homes when I'm older - one on the beach in SoCal and one in the countryside.

LMU: If you could change your name, what would it be?
AG: I have no clue.

LMU: If someone was to give you one gift, what would you want to receive?
AG: A vacation to see the world.

LMU: What was your favorite childhood television program?
AG: Boy Meets World.
