LOS ANGELES, Calif. - As the 2013 season approaches, we here at LMULions.com would like to (re)introduce you to some of the baseball players who will be gracing Page Stadium's field this year. We have asked all the players a series of questions that range from why they chose LMU to what they would change their name to if they could. Today's question and answer session will feature sophomore Chris Barnett.

LMULions.com: What did you do this summer?
Chris Barnett: Played in the West Coast Collegiate League with the Klamath Falls Gems.

LMU: Why did you choose LMU/What do you like most about LMU?
CB: For the prestige academically and the chance to do something great with my teammates and go to Omaha. My favorite part about LMU is hanging with my teammates.

LMU: Do you have a nickname? Explain the meaning behind it.
CB: Barney because of my last name.

LMU: What is your greatest highlight on the field?
CB: Helping my team win back-to-back league titles in high school.

LMU: After LMU, what do you want to do?
CB: Travel the world and start up my own business.

LMU: Do you have any superstitions?
CB: I like to eat a big dinner the night before a game.

LMU: What is your favorite baseball team?
CB: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

LMU: What is the early favorite for your walk-up song?
CB: "Shake it For me"- Luke Bryan

 

 

LMU: What is your favorite movie?
CB: The Goonies.

LMU: What is your favorite book?
CB: "Quiet Strength" by Tony Dungy.

LMU: What celebrity would play you in a movie about your life?
CB: The Rock.

LMU: You are given $1,000,000 - what do you spend it on?
CB: I would buy a cabin in the mountains.

LMU: Are you a collector of anything?
CB: I used to collect baseball pins when I was younger, but not anymore.

LMU: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
CB: To fly because I could go wherever I wanted whenever I wanted.

LMU: If I take a look inside your refrigerator what would I find?
CB: Saracha, soy sauce, water, apples and jelly.

LMU: What is your motto or advice you live by?
CB: Success= Today+Today+Today+...

LMU: Name at least one television show that you watch every week.
CB: ESPN.

LMU: What is your most prized possession?
CB: My family.

LMU: Any fears or phobias?
CB: I don't like being alone.

LMU: Who is your biggest influence in life?
CB: My parents.

LMU: Do you have a celebrity look-alike?
CB: Not that I know of.

LMU: Are you a morning or night person?
CB: Night person.

LMU: If you could be any animal, what would you be?
CB: An eagle because I've always wanted to fly.

LMU: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
CB: On the beach in Newport.

LMU: If you could change your name, what would it be?
CB: I always thought it'd be cool to have a Korean name.

LMU: What was your favorite childhood television program?
CB: Rocket Power.
