LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LMU baseball Head Coach Jason Gill announced an addition to his recruiting class, which was published early last week, releasing the signing of Tyler Eppler (C, Bear Creek High School). Eppler joins an already strong recruiting class that features Bryan Berglund (RHP, Royal High School), Matt Lowenstein (SS/OF, Chino Hills High School) and Joel Licon (INF, Diamond Ranch High School).

Eppler is a 6'1" 185-pound catcher from Bear Creek High School. Last season, Eppler batted .455 with 26 runs scored, eight doubles, three triples and 32 RBI. "Eppler is a quality backstop with a good arm. He is a `catch-and-throw' type of guy who understands the game and comes to the field prepared to work hard everyday," Recruiting Coordinator Drew Keehn said.

LMU begins the 2009 season at home on Friday, February 20 at 2 p.m. as it hosts Utah in the first game of a four-game series.
