Dec. 11, 2012

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - As the 2013 season approaches, we here at would like to (re)introduce you to some of the baseball players who will be gracing Page Stadium's field this year. We have asked all the players a series of questions that range from why they chose LMU to what they would change their name to if they could. If you have any additional question that you'd like to see answered in the future, please feel free to email Tyler Geivett at

Today's question and answer session will feature senior Zac Fujimoto. What did you do this summer?
Zac Fujimoto: I played summer ball at home in Hawai'i and enjoyed my time there with family and friends. Spent a lot of time at the beach, hiking, camping, fishing, diving, and eating awesome food.

LMU: Why did you choose LMU/What do you like most about LMU?
ZF: I chose LMU because it's "close" to home. A lot of Hawai'i ties up here, reputable business school, beautiful campus, and of course, the baseball. It's impossible for me to narrow down what I like most about LMU to one thing, too many good things, love the school in general. Do you have a nickname? Explain the meaning behind it.
ZF: On the team it's Fuji What is your greatest highlight on the field?
ZF: When I hit for the cycle my freshmen year at Hartnell College. After LMU, what do you want to do?
ZF: At this moment I'm still indifferent about moving home or staying on the mainland. Do you have any superstitions?
ZF: Don't really have any superstitions; I do have pre-game rituals though. (Secret) Do you have any hidden talents?
ZF: Nintendo 64 Super Smash Bros, any takers? What is your favorite baseball team?
ZF: Dodgers! What is the early favorite for your walk-up song?
ZF: No Other Love by Common Kings ft. J Boog and Fiji; Warriors by Kymani Marley You are given $1,000,000 - what do you spend it on?
ZF: I would spend it on my family, friends, and a black Tacoma 4x4. I don't really have too many wants; I'm blessed enough to have everything I need to live, so I would save/invest the rest. Are you a collector of anything?
ZF: I just started collecting baseball memorabilia. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
ZF: I would love to teleport, I could go anywhere, never have to sit in traffic, and of course steal every bag and nothing would drop in the outfield. If I take a look inside your refrigerator what would I find?
ZF: Milk, veggies, ahi poke, and steak What is your motto or advice you live by?
ZF: Smile and have fun Name at least one television show that you watch every week.
ZF: Sportscenter Any fears or phobias?
ZF: Spiders Who is your biggest influence in life?
ZF: FAMILY Are you a morning or night person?
ZF: Both If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
ZF: I haven't been to a lot of places so it's hard to say, but most likely Hawai'i.
