2006-07 Season Notes at LMU:
He finished the 2006-07 season appearing in 26 of the Lions' 31 games, averaging 8.0 minutes per contest. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest. He also went 18-for-27 from the free throw line (66.7 percent). He played five minutes in first collegiate game, getting a rebound against Oral Roberts (11-10-06) and had first points against Mississippi State (11-13-06). Was huge in Lions win over NMSU (11-17-06), going for eight points and three boards in 12 minutes. Scored eight points with five rebounds against Monmouth (12-31-06). Scored three points with two rebounds in eight minutes in win over Santa Clara (1-27-07). Played seven minutes and scored four points with three rebounds against USF (2-12-07).
High School:
Craig, who is from Montreal, Canada, helped the Canadian Junior National Team to a 3-3 record in the 2006 Albert Schweitzer Turnier tournament, which featured 16 teams from around the world in an international competition. Craig brings size to the Lions program. At 7-0, 260 pounds, the French-Canadian was a force for the Canadian Junior National Team this April. He scored the team's only double-double in the 109-81 win over China. He finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in just 15 minutes off the bench to lead Canada. A Dean's List student at St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., he speaks French as his primary language. He helped the team to a 16-5 record and a semifinal appearance in the Class A Finals. Recent Lion graduate Dustin Brown also attended the prep school. St. Thomas More School competes with other prestigious New England prep schools as a member of the Southeastern New England Athletic Conference (SENE) division of the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC).
Personal:
Max Craig was born in Monreal, Quebec, Canada. He was born on July 4, 1988 and is the son of Maaike Zuyderhoff and Francois Craig. As a member of the junior national team he visited youth hospitals in Canada. He has an older sister. He is a Business major.
