Briefly:
Shawn Deadwiler II is in his first collegiate season with the Lions in 2006-07 after finishing a stellar career at South Mountain High School in Arizona. He will be in the Lions' guard rotation and has the opportunity to be an inpact player for the Lions in his first season of collegiate basketball. He could be come a very good offensive player for the Lions and turned heads in fall training.

High School:
Deadwiler is an all-state selection who lead South Mountain High School in Phoenix, Ariz., to its first state championship since 1992. As a 6-3, 175-pound combo-guard, Deadwiler led South Mountain with 21 points, five rebounds and six assists per game. He was an ArizonaVarsity.com First-Team All-State selection and an Arizona Republic Honorable Mention All-State selection. He was the top scorer for South Mountain's run to the state title in 5A Division-II competition. He helped the team to a 29-4 record as the team averaged 81 points per game, tops in the state of Arizona. He led all scorers with 19 points in the state championship win over Deer Valley, 75-54. Showing his versatility, Deadwiler, while playing in this spring's Las Vegas Easter Classic, suffered a sprain in his left shooting wrist. He switched hands and shot the ball with his right hand, scoring better than 27 points in the tournament. He graduated in May of 2006 with a 3.45 GPA from South Mountain. He attended and played at Chandler High School for three seasons, earning all-league his sophomore and junior seasons.

Personal:
Shawn L. Deadwiler II was born in Glendale, Ariz., on Sept. 7, 1988. He is the son of Valerie Del Rosario and Shawn and Gaca Deadwiler. He has a younger sister. Played against teammate Mason Maynard in high school. He is a Business major.
