IN 2008-09... HONORS... One of five freshman to be named to the All-WCC Freshman Team... RANKINGS/RECORDS... He finished the regular season with 417 points, becoming the first freshman to hit 400 in school history. Smashed the school record for points in a game by a freshman with 39 in the win over CSUB. In terms of freshman records, he ranks third in scoring average (13.5), tied for fourth in assists (84), and fourth in steals (35). DuBois ranked 12th overall and second by freshmen in the WCC in scoring. He hit 1.58 three-pointers per game, ranked 8th. From the charity stripe he has been even better, ranking second in the league hitting 84.3 percent. With the opportunity to play big minutes, DuBois' numbers worked their way into more than just the freshmen record books at LMU. He averaged 34.5 minutes per game this season, ranking 17th all-time. His 1,071 minutes played on the year is second. In addition, his free throw percentage is ranked 20th, the 49 made three-pointers is ranked 18th while his 141 attempts is ranked 18th in LMU history. His three-point field goal percentage (34.8), free throws made (118), assists (84), and steals (35) are all top-50 in LMU history for a season... NON-CONFERENCE... went for 11 points in college debut against Milwaukee... had career-best 16 against No. 8 Notre Dame, while holding All-Big East performer to zero points... Continues to carry the lead in the front court, going for more than 30 minutes for the fourth time on the season... went over 30 minutes for the fifth time with his best game yet, going for 23 points against UALR... ranks 12th all-time for freshman single game scoring... he went 7-for-11 from the field... added 16 points in 34 minutes against Arizona... leads team in free throws at 21-for-24 (.875)... played his first 40-minute game with nine points, six assists (career-high) and six rebounds (career-high) against Wyoming... continues to be Lions' floor leader with 12 points, six assists, four rebounds and a steal against UC Riverside... went 4-for-4 from free throw line... hit 14 straight free throws between UALR and UCLA games... had a career-best seven assists with five points and four points against Mercer... went to the free throw line 13 times, hitting 11 against New Mexico State. He finished with 17 points, a steal, three rebounds and an assist... hit 6-for-6 from free throw line to score 10 points in 40 minutes against Seattle... exploded to lift Lions to first win with freshman record 39 points on 11-for-15 shooting. 5-for-7 from three, and 12-of-15 from the charity stripe... the point total snapped the record held by Forrest McKenzie for nearly 27 years. McKenzie had 29 points against San Francisco on Jan. 16, 1982. DuBois' effort was the most points by any Lion since Wyking Jones had 39 against San Francisco on Jan. 20, 1994... WCC PLAY... went for 17 points, five assists, three rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes despite having the flu against USF... went for 17 points again, with four rebounds and two assists against #25 SMC... continued torrid pace in 2009 with 25 points, tied for fifth best in freshman history, against USD... he went 11-for-12 from the free throw line, hitting his first 11 to run his streak to 22 before missing his last FT... scored 11 points in back-to-back conference games against Gonzaga and Portland... went for 10 points, five assists, five rebounds while hitting 6-for-6 from the charity stripe in win over USD... at home against Santa Clara had the third best scoring game by a freshman with 28 points, hitting 10-for-20 from the field and 6-for-10 from the charity stripe... moved his point total to 346, good for fifth for a freshman in LMU history... hit 7-for-14 from the field, scoring 19 points on the road against Portland... scored 17 points with five rebounds and three assists in just 22 minutes due to foul trouble in the foul trouble against USF... finished regular season with eight points and three steals in 32 minutes against SMC... HIGH SCHOOL... He graduated from Westchester High School in June of 2008. As a senior, DuBois helped Ed Azzam's squad to a 29-5 overall record and 11-1 in league play. He helped lead Westchester to a 26-7 record as a junior. The team advanced to the Southern California Regional Finals, where they fell to eventual state champion Fairfax High School. He is a two-time first-team All-Western selection, a two-time Daily Breeze All-Area team selection and a two-time Los Angeles All-City selection. He averaged around 16 points, three assists, four rebounds and two steals in his final two seasons at Westchester.
