HIGHLIGHTS AT LMU... 2011-12 FRESHMAN... Finished 2011-12 season averaging 1.5 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.63 assists in playing 19 games during his first season at LMU... scored a season-best seven points in the win over Northern Arizona and had six assists in the win over La Sierra... he averaged 6.9 minutes per contest in the regular season... had five points off the bench, hitting his first career three-pointer, while adding a rebound in the win at BYU (1/19/12)... had four points in seven minutes in final CIT game at Utah State (3/21/12).
BEFORE LMU... Graduated from Lutheran High School (La Verne, CA) in June of 2011... averaged 12.4 points, 2.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals for Lutheran. As a junior in 2009-10, he helped the squad to a 28-8 overall record and the 2010 CIF State Division V Championship... English helped lead Lutheran, who is coached by Eric Cooper, to the CIF-Southern Section Division 5AA championship, hitting a 15-footer at the buzzer to lift his second-seeded Trojans to a 62-51 win over Los Angeles Windward... In the state championships, English scored 15 points with six rebounds in the Trojans 52-50 win in a rematch over Windward, this time in the state semifinals... Then, with the Trojans trailing 25-16 in the state title game, English scored eight of the team's next 15, including a three-point play in the fourth quarter and a steal that led to a bucket on their way to win the state title with a 35-32 victory over Ross Branson. English led the team with 10 points and had a pair of steals in the win.
PERSONAL... Bruce Rayford English II was born on Feb. 2, 1993 in Lynwood, Calif... He is the son of Sharon and Bruce English... volunteered for the Salvation Army during their Thanksgiving Feast...in the Liberal Arts program at LMU.
