Junior Marin Mornar has found success for the LMU men's basketball team as they continue to navigate the tough road of West Coast Conference play. That success, however, isn't just on the court. Thanks to a supporting cast throughout campus, the native of Zagreb, Croatia navigates the rigors of his Civil Engineering major.

Exactly one week from doing it at San Francisco, the LMU men's basketball team erased another double-digit road deficit, this time overcoming an 11-point margin at Pacific with nine minutes to play to force overtime. Once in the extra frame, the Lions were perfect from the field to claim a 76-71 win over the Tigers in West Coast Conference action in Stockton, Calif., Saturday afternoon.

LMU continues its three-game homestand to open West Coast Conference play with a New Year's Day battle against Pacific at Gersten Pavilion. The Lions (4-9, 0-1) dropped its opener on Monday to Pepperdine, while Pacific (8-6, 0-2) was swept at home by Santa Clara and San Francisco. IN 2014-15 • JUNIOR… played in all 31 games as a junior, setting career-marks in almost every stat category… he ranked 16th in the WCC in rebounds, 9th in field goal percentage, and second in blocked shots… was second on team with 9.9 ppg, sitting second at 5.3 rpg and ranking fifth all-time in LMU history with 47 blocks on the season… he finished the season averaging 26.7 mpg, hitting 51.4 percent from the field and 73.6 percent from the free throw line… had first double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds in win over Portland (1/15/15)… two games later he went for 22 points and 11 rebounds at Santa Clara (1/22/15)… a third double-double came with 23 points and 11 rebounds in the road win over Pacific (1/31/15)… the following game he went for a career-best 27 points with nine rebounds in win over USD (2/5/215).

IN 2013-14 • SOPHOMORE… played in all 32 games in his second season with LMU… finished averaging 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game… finished the season with 36 blocks, ranked 6th in the WCC at 1.1 blocks per contest… has 46 blocks in his two seasons at LMU, ranked 23rd for a career at LMU… had a block in 22 of the Lions 32 games, including a career-best five in the win at Pacific (1/23/14)… finished the season hitting 58.3 percent from the field and 73.9 percent from free throw line...

IN 2012-13 • FRESHMAN… averaged 8.8 minutes per game as a true freshman, averaging 1.7 points and 2.3 rebounds on the season… added 10 blocks, six steals while hitting 5-for-11 from the three-point line… had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in career debut against Pacifica (11/9/12)… it was the first double-double by a freshman making his debut in school history...

HIGH SCHOOL… graduated from Consortium College Prep in Detroit, Mich., in June of 2012… he attended Tehnicka Shola Ruder Boshevic in Zagreb, Croatia before relocating to Detroit to pursue dream of playing NCAA Division I basketball… was a member of the Honor Roll and National Honor Society at Consortium… helped Consortium to the Michigan Class C State Championships, advancing to the regional finals where they fell to eventual state champion Beecher. The Cougars finished the season 19-4… he averaged 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.6 blocks.

PERSONAL… Marin Mornar was born on March 26, 1993 in Zagreb, Croatia and is the son of Nives and Vedran Mornar… has a sister… a Civil Engineering major.
