WCC First Round Postgame Press Conferences
A conference rivalry that originally started in 1954 will be renewed this week for LMU men's basketball as the 2014 conference portion of the schedule continues with the Lions heading to Pacific on Thursday, Jan. 23. Pacific, who rejoined the West Coast Conference this season, is 10-7 on the season and 1-5 in the WCC while the Lions are 10-10 and 2-6. Tip-off is set for 7 pm and can be seen on TheW.tv and heard on KXLU 88.9 FM.
LMU men's basketball will conclude its quick two-game homestand when they host the West Coast Conference leaders, Gonzaga, in the WCC Game of the Week on Saturday, Jan. 18. Nick Stover interviews CJ Blackwell.
Like it did to start the season, the beginning of West Coast Conference play will be dominated by road games. LMU will continue its four-game road swing in WCC play when they visit San Diego on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 pm. It will be the second time in less than two weeks the Lions (10-6, 2-2) will take on the Toreros (9-7, 0-3).
LMU men's basketball was on the road for a month and returned home this week for the first time since Nov. 17. In addition to home games, the Lions were able to get back to action in the community as well, with the community outreach program LMU Cares picking back up on Monday at Franklin D. Parent School in Inglewood.

2012-13 FRESHMAN... played in 30 of the Lions 34 games as a true freshman... finished the season averaging 13.4 minutes, 3.7 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest... had his best stretch of games in the WCC tournament, including 11 in the WCC Quarterfinal win over Santa Clara (3/8/13)... had a career-best 12 points to open the season against Pacifica (11/9/12)... finished season with eight points and career-best seven rebounds against No. 1 Gonzaga (3/9/13)... averaged 7.25 points in WCC tournament...
HIGH SCHOOL... He was a three-time All-Alpha Conference selection, three-time All-CIF honoree, two-time All-State selection, a two-time CIF "Pursuing honor with victory" award recipient, a member of the 2009 CIF State Division 5 Championship team and a member of the 2011 CIF State Division 4 Championship team... As a senior in 2011-12, he averaged 21.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 blocks per game in leading Windward to a 20-9 overall record, falling to Price in the CIF State Division 4 Championships... As a junior in 2011, he helped Windward capture its second state championship in three years. In the title game against Salesian, Stover had 13 points and five rebounds. He finished his junior season averaging 15.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for the 27-8 Wildcats. In the stretch run of the season, he went for five straight double-doubles, including a 26-points, 19-rebound effort against Alemany. His season high was 27 against Tahquitz... As a sophomore he averaged 7.9 points and 4.0 rebounds as the Wildcats went 26-9 overall and 10-0 in the league.
PERSONAL...Nicholas Craig Stover was born on Jan. 8, 1993 in Pasadena, Calif., and is the son of Rena and Craig Stover... has an older sister and older brother... brother Anthony played basketball at UCLA... dad played basketball at Santa Monica City College and Pepperdine... mom ran track and field and played basketball in college, attending Pasadena City College and Cal State Northridge... a Communications major.
