Briefly:
Quentin Turner joins LMU for his first season at LMU after transferring from Motlow State (Tenn.) Community College. Give LMU a true point guard with great speed. Turner should assist the Lions in running in transition better in 207-08.
2006-07 Season Notes at Motlow State:
Turner was named All-Eastern Division and All-TJCCAA by the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association this past season. He was third in the league in free throw shooting at 80.6 percent and was also ranked in the top 10 in assists and steals. He averaged 11.1 points per game and was fifth in the league in steals with 71 (2.7 spg) and eighth in assists with 106 (4.1 apg). Only at Motlow one season, he helped the Bucks to a first-place tie in the Eastern Division as they went 10-6 in league play. He graduated with honors and was named to the Dean's List while playing for Coach Bobby Steinburg.
2005-06 Season Notes at Cloud County:
Prior to Motlow, Turner spent one season at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kan., a member of the high-profile Jayhawk Conference. He was a key participant of Cloud County's 24-9 record in the 2005-06 season for Coach Kevin Muff.
High School:
A native of Dickinson, Texas, Turner graduated from Dickinson High School in 2005 and was named the district MVP after averaging 25 points, seven assists and six rebounds as a senior. He graduated with a 4.0 and played for Coach Mike Odom. He was a three-time all-conference selection and was team captain his final two seasons.
Personal:
Quentin Scott Turner was born on March 2, 1987 and is the son of Marilyn and James Turner. He has a brother, James. Father played basketball at the College of the Mainland.
