PRIOR TO LMU... AT OREGON... After missing most of the season due to a stress fracture in his foot, he played in 11 of the last 12 games. Viney averaged 1.5 points per game on the season. Scored season-best five points in March 6 win at home against Arizona State. He also had five points with four rebounds in season-opener against Pepperdine. He contributed four points in Feb. 9 win at California... HIGH SCHOOL... As a senior, averaged 31 points and 12 rebounds per game for Villa Park High School. Averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds per game as a junior. Once scored 44 points in a game as a senior. Three-time all-state performer. A four-star recruit, was ranked as the 20th-best small forward in the country by Scout.com, and is listed in that service's top 100 recruits overall. "A good athlete, Viney has a very nice frame and a terrific stroke with good range. He moves well, but is still not completely grown into his body. Looks like he may still be growing. Among the top wing prospects in the west for 2007," Scout.com said. Also played volleyball for Villa Park and was a two-time all-league player.

PERSONAL... James Andrew David Viney was born on September 17, 1988, in Whittier, Calif. Parents are Jamie and Mona Viney. He has two brothers and two sisters, with a sister and a brother going on to play college athletics. Father also played college athletics at Wright State. High School (Coach): Villa Park (Kevin Reynolds). Major is Theater Arts.
