SPOKANE, Wash. – Ninth-ranked Gonzaga held Loyola Marymount to a season-low 46 points on Thursday. Despite the low team total, Eli Scott led all scorers in the game with 16 points, as the Bulldogs topped the Lions, 74-46.

Gonzaga scored the game’s first 17 points, capitalizing off five early LMU turnovers. Back-to-back baskets by Scott then Zafir Williams put LMU on the board five and a half minutes into the game.

Scott broke up another 12-0 run with an interior layup to make it 32-9 with 4:38 to play in the opening half.

Jeffery McClendon hit LMU’s first three pointer at the 2:31 mark of the first half after the Lions opened the game with eight misses from long range.

At the half, Scott led all scorers at the half with nine points and added five rebounds, including one coming with a second-chance basket with 17 seconds remaining until intermission.

The Lions came out of the locker room scoring five of the first seven points, and outscored the Zags in the second half until the home team went on a 15-0 lasting from the 10:35 mark through 4:11 to play.

LMU shot 33 perfect from the field, and 3-for-19 from long range (season-low 17 percent) as McClendon finished with two threes and Mikail Simmons added one of his own.

The Lions will turn their focus to Saturday’s opponent, USF. The Lions and Dons match up in San Francisco Saturday at 3 p.m. on Spectrum Sportsnet.
