On paper, the game has the potential to be one of the highest scoring in the conference to date. Both the Lions and Waves allow the conference's most points per game with LMU opponents scoring 77.5 ppg this season and Pepperdine opponents averaging 81.1 ppg.

Three Lions rank in the conference's top 14 in scoring. James Batemon (17.2 ppg) ranks fifth and Eli Scott (13.3 ppg) is just ahead of Steven Haney, Jr. (12.4 ppg) at 12th and 14th, respectively.

The game will feature two of the West Coast Conference's premier freshman. In addition to Scott's 13.3 ppg, the LMU freshman is grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game, sixth most in the WCC. For the Waves, freshman Colby Ross is seventh in the conference in scoring with 15.4 points per game and fourth in assists with 5.2 assists per game, making him the only 15 point and 5 assist player in the WCC.

A real weapon of late has been the defense of Jeffery McClendon. The junior has been a solid perimeter defender and leads the conference in both total steals (35) and steals per game (1.84). During WCC play, McClendon remains at the top of both categories, with 17 steals and an average of 2.1 per game.

The game will tip at 7 p.m. on Spectrum Sportsnet.
