Lions Add Another Big
July 16, 2012
2012-13 Summer Quick Facts LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball Head Coach Max Good announced today, Monday, that Marin Mornar of Consortium College Prep in Detroit, Mich., has committed to the Lions as an incoming freshman starting in the Fall of 2012. Mornar, who is a 6-9, 185-pound forward from Croatia, helped Consortium to the Michigan Class C State Championships, advancing to the regional finals where they fell to eventual state champion Beecher. The Cougars finished the season 19-4. "He is very long and has great range with a ton of potential," said Good. "He can shoot the ball well and is a very tough player. He loves basketball and you can't keep him out of the gym." Mornar, a native of Croatia, averaged 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.6 blocks in his one season at Consortium in 2011-12. "The key for Marin will be his strength game," said Good. "How quickly he gets stronger will determine his success. He is very tough and his upside is huge."
