LAS VEGAS - LMU men's basketball three-time All-West Coast Conference selection Drew Viney was named to the 16-man roster for the NBA Champion Miami Heat for the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas July 13-22. And after two games he is one of four players to average double figures.

Viney, who finished his three-year career at LMU 15th with 1,364 points and 20th with 535 rebounds, has scored 12 points in each of the Heats two wins in Las Vegas. He went 5-for-7 from the field, hitting 2-for-4 from the three-point line in the 106-56 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on July 16. He went 4-for-11 from the field in the 71-59 win over Toronto on July 15.

In addition to his scoring, Viney is averaging five rebounds per contest and 3.5 assists, earning a efficiency rating of +16.5 in the two games. He played 23 minutes while earning the start against the Lakers and 28 minutes off the bench against Toronto.
