Inside the Lions: Mike Dunlap
A Lion returns home in the profession he always knew he was going to be a part of.
July 21, 2014
LOS ANGELES -- From the time he was a "pup," Mike Dunlap knew he was going to be a coach. In March, he returned to his alma mater to lead the LMU men's basketball program. He is the fifth and final Inside the Lions feature looking at the new basketball staff.
Dunlap was inspired by some of the greats in coach coaching, including LMU Alum and Hall of Fame member Pete Newell and the Newell family along with legend John Wooden. That inspiration has helped Dunlap coach for more than 30 years at all levels, including time in the NBA and a pair of national championships.
He talks about his philosophies, how those in the coaching profession shaped him and what it means to return to LMU.
