A Traditional Tip-off
Head Coach Max Good speaks at the annual Wooden Award Tip-off Luncheon.
Sept. 25, 2013
LOS ANGELES - One of the first signs the college basketball season is about to begin in Southern California is the annual Wooden Award Tip-off Luncheon, and for the first time in the month of September, the event officially welcomed the 2013-14 season on Wednesday at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
Head Coach Max Good was the first of the 14 NCAA Division I coaches from Cal Poly down to San Diego to speak at the luncheon. Good introduced the two new assistants on the Lions' staff and gave a quick glimpse at the excitement for the new season. Watch the speech on the LMU Sports Network.
Due to new NCAA rules, practice is beginning more than two weeks earlier than ever, moving the annual luncheon to its earliest date ever. Practice begins on Friday.
Also this weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 28, the LMU men's basketball team in support of its Lions' Athletic Fund will hold the first event of its kind, the Men's Baskertball Cruise and Dinner Auction.
