Wooden Luncheon Celebrates Start of Hoops Season

LOS ANGELES -- Head men's basketball coaches from Cal Poly down to San Diego made their annual appearance at the Wooden Tip-off Luncheon on Wednesday, signifying the start of the 2012-13 basketball season is just days away. Max Good was one of 12 coaches who spoke at the annual event.

Traditionally held the Wednesday prior to the start of practice, the annual Wooden Tip-off Luncheon held at the Los Angeles Athletic Club features a representative of the 13 NCAA DIvision I programs in Southern California. Those programs included Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, LMU, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and USC.

 

 

Lions' All-Access was at the luncheon, and caught what Coach Good had to say as the season gets started this week at Gersten.

Practice will officially being for the 2012-13 season on Friday with LMU celebrating the start of the season with Madness at Midnight on Friday, Oct. 19, followed by the Crimson and Navy game on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. Season tickets are still available, including special Friends and Family pricing.
