Oct. 16, 2012
LOS ANGELES - The madness of college basketball has begun for 2012-13 and LMU will celebrate the week in traditional style, including single game tickets going on sale, the 12th annual Madness at Midnight on Friday and the Crimson & Navy scrimmages on Saturday.
Season tickets to the 2012-13 season remain on sale and are the best value to the upcoming season. In addition, single game tickets are now on sale online through LMULions.com.
Season ticket packages begin at $100 for the Friends & Family Ticket Pack and $125 for the Young Alum package. Single game tickets for the Lions' 15-game home slate - which includes Ole Miss, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's and BYU - begin at $10.
As practice concludes its first official week, the Lions will give fans a sneak peak to the season to come with its annual Madness at Midnight and Crimson & Navy games.
Since 2000, the LMU student body has celebrated the season with Madness at Midnight. The annual event has become one of the largest student-attended events of the year at LMU and will once again feature an introduction to the teams, shooting contests, team dance competitions and LMU dance group performances.
Starting with Madness, the LMU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will sponsor a T-Shirt and Hoodie Drive. Members of SAAC are asking that anyone who attends Madness bring a lightly worn t-shirt and/or hoodie. Collection bins will be located in the atrium as fans enter Gersten Pavilion. Thank you, in advance, for your support of the collection drives. Please forward this information to anyone who might be attending Madness on Friday.
SAAC will continue with the Hoodie Drive until December 1 (Homecoming) and the T-Shirt Drive until February 28. Fans coming to Madness are reminded that no bags/purses will be allowed into the building.
On Saturday, the action will continue with the Crimson & Navy Scrimmages. The women will begin the action at 10 a.m., followed by the men at 2 p.m. The first 200 students going to the men's Crimson & Navy game after the women can get free In-N-Out from the In-N-Out truck, which will be making an appearance at the scrimmages for the second straight year.
In addition, Nike's Jordan Brand - Rise Above Truck will make an appearance at the event. LMU switched to Nike this fall and the basketball programs will be part of the Jordan Brand.
