Inside the Lions with English | Quick-30 with No. 1 | LMU on Facebook | LMU on Twitter
LOS ANGELES -- As the 2012-13 LMU men's basketball season continues to get closer to its official first game on Nov. 9, Lions' All-Access and the special feature Inside the Lions continues to take a look at this year's roster. Up next is Southern California native Bruce English.
In his first season of college basketball, English played 19 games, contributing some big minutes in key games, including his first career three-pointer in the road win at BYU.
As he transitions to his second season, the sophomore from Rancho Cuchamunga is all about building on what he learned in that first year and from the inspiration three individuals have taught him in life.
Making the transition from football to basketball at the age of 12 because, in his words, he "probably took one to many hits," English used the guidance of his mother and father to fall in love with the game of basketball.
As the game became something bigger, a third person became a huge influence on this spiritually centered guard, his high school coach Eric Cooper.
"Everything I have learned is from those three people," says English, who is right at home at LMU. Learn the complete story on Inside the Lions through Lions' All-Access.
The Lions continue to prepare for their season opener on Nov. 9 and will play their lone exhibition against Point Loma on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. Season tickets are still available, including special Friends and Family pricing. Visit the Ticket Homepage for more information.
