EL SEGUNDO, Calif. --The floor director at Time Warner Sport studios in El Segundo was busy placing wireless microphones on 20 players and 20 coaches on Thursday at the 2013 West Coast Conference Tip-off event. When he turned to assist senior Anthony Ireland with his, the fourth-year point guard had already placed the lapel microphone in perfect position, leaving the director with a moment of pause, commenting on his experience.

Ireland, who was the Lions' representative a year ago, and his experience has turned some heads heading into his senior season as honors and expectations continue to rise for the senior.

Already named to various preseason honors including the Cousy Award watch list, Ireland was named First-Team Preseason All-WCC honor on Thursday. At the event, the WCC announced the annual preseason awards along with the preseason coaches' poll and full television schedule for the upcoming 2013-14 conference schedule.

In addition to Ireland taking home preseason honors, both the men and women were picked to finish sixth in the newly expanded 10-team WCC this season.

For the men, the Lions will be on the WCC national and regional television platform 11 times in 2013-14 with another five games airing the TheW.tv and LMU Sports Networks. It will start with the WCC Game of the Week against BYU on Saturday, Dec. 28 at Gersten Pavilion. Game time is set for 1 pm and will be on various regional networks, including Time Warner Cable SportsNet. The Lions will be on another WCC Game of the Week when they host Gonzaga on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1 pm for the 2014 Homecoming game. In addition, LMU's Wells Fargo PCH Cup battle at Gersten Pavilion with Pepperdine on Feb. 20 will be on ESPNU at 8 pm. The WCC games broadcast this season include:

The season begins for the Lions on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they take on Cal Lutheran in an exhibition at Gersten Pavilion. Start time is 7:30 pm.
